Sandy and I toured Tinseltown a few years ago. Like most visitors, we hoped to catch a glimpse of a movie star. Alas, on the last day, we made a sighting. Check out the photos below and you will see our celebrity!
We’ve compiled our “must do” list:
- Walk of Fame – Honors icons of the past and present with stars on the sidewalks of Hollywood Blvd. and Vine Street. There are over 2400 stars spread along 18 blocks.
- The Hollywood Sign – Sitting atop Mount Lee, it is a symbol of the entertainment industry.
Hooray for Hollywood!!
- Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel – Shirley Temple took her first tap dancing lessons from Bill “Bojangles” Robinson on the hotel’s fabulous stairway. The first Academy Awards ceremony was held here in 1929.
Grauman's Chinese Theatre
- Grauman’s Chinese Theatre – It opened in 1927 and has over 200 hand and footprints of Hollywood legends in cement.
One of my favorites....Shirley Temple
- Kodak Theatre - It is now the permanent home of the Oscars. The red carpets will be rolled out here for the Feb. 27 ceremony.
